Yin Yoga @ NSB Studios - Wednesdays 5:30pm

We will follow the principles of Yin Yoga: time, stillness, and finding your edge. Don’t worry, no head or handstands are involved. In fact, much of the practice will take place seated. This is a beginner-friendly class, in fact, my goal is to help people experience the power of Yin Yoga, which truly promotes mind-body balance. It is a nicely blend of movement and mindful ways of being and thinking. We live such busy (Yang) lives, but we must remember to bring balance as well (Yin). We will gently hold poses for 2-5 minutes, intending to target the ligaments, tendons, and fascia, while we gently stretch and focus on intentional breathing.

Must book with NSB Studios (https://app.arketa.co/nsbstudios)

Restorative & Sound - Sundays 7pm

Join me for a restorative yoga and sound healing journey designed to help you unwind, reset, and deeply relax. This is more than just a yoga class—it’s a full-body and mind experience where the healing vibrations of crystal singing bowls harmonize with gentle, supported postures, guiding you into deep rest.

What is Restorative Yoga?

Imagine floating effortlessly on calm waters—this is the essence of restorative yoga. Unlike more active styles of yoga, restorative yoga invites you to slow down, soften, and fully surrender. Using props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks, we’ll settle into each pose for 5-10 minutes at a time, giving your body space to release tension and find stillness. This practice is perfect for anyone looking to reduce stress, improve sleep, and nurture their nervous system.

What is Sound Healing?

Think of sound healing as the song of the ocean meeting the rhythm of your breath. As you rest in each pose, I’ll play crystal singing bowls, chimes, and other soothing instruments, creating a gentle vibrational wave that moves through your body, clearing stuck energy and inviting deep relaxation. The sounds resonate at specific frequencies that align with the body’s energy centers (chakras), helping to bring you into balance, peace, and harmony—just like the ebb and flow of the ocean waves.

What to Expect

  • A warm, welcoming space to completely unwind
  • Long-held, fully supported poses to release tension and restore balance
  • Live crystal bowl sound healing paired with each posture
  • Gentle guided breathwork to deepen your relaxation
  • The feeling of being cradled by sound, like floating on gentle waves

Must register with NSB Studios (https://app.arketa.co/nsbstudios)

What can you expect?

The top 2 things I hear from people are:

  1. I can’t do yoga because I’m not flexible or have the “right” body type.
  2. I don’t feel comfortable going to a yoga studio

But, I’m here to tell you that yoga is for everyBODY. I firmly believe that yoga can be accessible to each and every person that is willing to try. Yin yoga is all about connecting both physically and mentally.

The 3 principles of Yin Yoga are:

  1. Finding Your Edge: This means you want to feel something, but not at a great intensity. Think of a 3 or 4, on a 1-10 scale. As time goes on, you will naturally fall deeper into the pose.
  2. Stillness: Once you have found your edge, you will want to remain still in the pose. The goal is to tap into the fascia, tendons, and ligaments, rather than the muscles like other forms of yoga.
  3. Time: Unlike some forms of yoga that move very quickly through poses, in Yin, we move through poses quite slowly and stay in them for many minutes, which I will guide you in and out of.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Sandi at oceanic.yoga.wellness@gmail.com
