Moves & Brews (EO Saturday 10:30am)
SAT OCT 18, 10:30 - 11:30 AM EDT (SAT OCT 18, 10:30 - 11:30 AM EDT)

Moves & Brews

Following the principles of Yin Yoga, our time will involve gentle movement, while focusing on our breathing. Don’t worry, no head or handstands are involved. In fact, much of the practice will take place seated. This is a beginner-friendly class, in fact, my goal is to help new people experience the power of Yin Yoga, which truly promotes mind-body balance. It is a nicely blend of movement and mindful ways of being and thinking. We live such busy (Yang) lives, but we must remember to bring balance as well (Yin).

This event takes place upstairs, overlooking the restaurant, prior to opening hours, so no need to worry about observers. ;-)

Then, reward yourself with some socializing in this fun and chill environment, while tasting one of Hall Wall's delicious brews.

So, bring your yoga mat, a bottle of water, and an open mind. Bring a friend too, the more the merrier.
Advanced registration is necessary.

The cost of your ticket ($18) includes the yoga class and 1 glass of HW beer (or glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage of your choice).

Half Wall Restaurant & Brewery location is 1899 FL-44, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 (click here for map)

What can you expect?

The top 2 things I hear from people are:

  1. I can’t do yoga because I’m not flexible or have the “right” body type.
  2. I don’t feel comfortable going to a yoga studio

But, I’m here to tell you that yoga is for everyBODY. I firmly believe that yoga can be accessible to each and every person that is willing to try. Yin yoga is all about connecting both physically and mentally.

The 3 principles of Yin Yoga are:

  1. Finding Your Edge: This means you want to feel something, but not at a great intensity. Think of a 3 or 4, on a 1-10 scale. As time goes on, you will naturally fall deeper into the pose.
  2. Stillness: Once you have found your edge, you will want to remain still in the pose. The goal is to tap into the fascia, tendons, and ligaments, rather than the muscles like other forms of yoga.
  3. Time: Unlike some forms of yoga that move very quickly through poses, in Yin, we move through poses quite slowly and stay in them for many minutes, which I will guide you in and out of.
